Terms of Service

Cellmetry (“we”) is an EV analytics service operated by Olli Ruokojoki as a Finnish toiminimi (sole trader), Y-tunnus 3619980-8, based in Oulu. These Terms apply when you use the website at cellmetry.com or the related dashboard.

Cellmetry connects to your Tesla via the official Tesla Fleet API, receives telemetry about the vehicle, and shows you charts, summaries, and peer comparisons. The service is priced per connected vehicle ($6.90 / vehicle / month, with a 30-day free trial per car; a paused vehicle is not billed). Two features sit on top of your private dashboard:

• The Fleet provides aggregated statistics and per-car comparisons using real telemetry. Fleet views are public, including through the read-only demo without an account. Cars appear under a stable pseudonym such as “Tesla #XXXX” or an optional public alias chosen by the owner. Pseudonymous data is not guaranteed to be anonymous. The founder's BattMobile is an explicitly authorised showcase with a detailed dashboard; ordinary connected cars do not receive that exposure.
• Groups — you can create a group, invite other Cellmetry users by link, and share specific vehicles of yours into the group at a role you choose (admin, contributor, or viewer). This is useful for families, small fleets, or companies who want several people to see the same cars; each member still has their own account. Private groups share vehicle details with members; public groups show the limited community view.

Registered accounts are per-person. The public demo uses a restricted read-only session without registration. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for all activity under them.

You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Cellmetry is a paid subscription service and is not directed to children.

Each vehicle you connect comes with a 30-day free trial — no credit card required. The trial belongs to the car, not to the account: a VIN gets one trial ever, so a car that already used its trial under a previous owner connects without a new one. Subscribing during the trial normally preserves your remaining free days, and billing begins once the latest active trial ends. The exception is the last two days of a trial, where our payment provider can no longer defer the first charge, so subscribing then bills you at once. Your settings page says which of the two applies before you subscribe. After that, the subscription runs at the price shown on the website, billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel from your account settings at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and your historical data remains visible.

If your trial ends without an active subscription, new telemetry ingestion stops but your existing dashboard and history remain available read-only. Resubscribing at any time resumes ingestion without loss of history.

Prices shown on the website are the total amount you pay. Cellmetry currently invoices without Finnish VAT (ALV) on the basis of the small-business turnover threshold under § 3 of the Finnish VAT Act (1501/1993). If Cellmetry crosses the threshold and becomes VAT-registered, the listed price will not change — VAT will be deducted from Cellmetry's share rather than added to your bill. Your billing address and any business tax ID (VAT number / Y-tunnus) are collected at checkout so invoices remain correct under either regime.

The price you subscribe at is the price you keep. As long as your subscription for a vehicle stays active without interruption, we will not raise its monthly price at our own discretion. Any change to our listed pricing applies only to new subscriptions and to vehicles resubscribed after a lapse.

The one exception is cost we do not control. Cellmetry depends on Tesla's Fleet API to receive your vehicle's data, and Tesla charges us for that access. If Tesla or another essential upstream provider materially increases those fees, we may pass through a proportionate share of the increase to keep the service running. We will not use this to raise our own margin.

If we ever change the price of an active subscription, whether under the exception above or a future change to our listed pricing, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. The new price applies only from your next billing period after that notice, and you can cancel at any time before it takes effect.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have 14 days from the start of a subscription to withdraw from it, without giving a reason. Email [email protected] within that time and we will cancel it and refund you as set out below.

Subscribing asks us to start the service immediately, which is why you can see your data the moment you pay rather than two weeks later. If you withdraw after that, the law lets us keep a share of the price proportionate to the days you already had the service, and we refund the rest. In practice that share is small: a car with its trial still available gives you that evaluation period before any payment, so the paid subscription usually starts after you have already seen what Cellmetry does.

Outside the withdrawal period, a cancellation ends the subscription at the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund the part of that period you have already used. If Cellmetry has not worked as described, write to us anyway. We would rather fix it or refund it than argue about it.

You retain ownership of the raw data your vehicle generates. By connecting a vehicle to Cellmetry, you grant us a limited licence to ingest, store, and process that data for the purposes set out in the Privacy Policy.

The Fleet: community views may be accessed by anyone on the internet. They exclude your account email, VIN and private vehicle name, but an optional public alias or other available information can make a vehicle recognisable. The Privacy Policy describes the purposes, legal bases, retention and your rights, including objections to public presentation. Connecting a vehicle does not grant permission to publish it as a detailed showcase. You must be authorised to connect the vehicle and inform other drivers about the processing described in the Privacy Policy.

Groups: sharing one of your vehicles into a private Group makes its telemetry and analytics visible to the other members of that Group, according to their role. Public Groups use the limited community view. You can remove a vehicle from a Group at any time; doing so stops future visibility. By inviting people into a Group you also confirm that you have authority to share the data of any drivers who use those vehicles, and have informed them as required.

Location data (GPS coordinates, routes) is not collected by Cellmetry under any product.

You agree not to:

• Connect vehicles you are not authorised to connect.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, deanonymise, or re-identify other drivers or owners from pseudonymous Fleet data shown to you.
• Use the service in a way that violates applicable law or Tesla's own terms for the Fleet API.
• Scrape the dashboard at volumes that interfere with service availability.

We aim to keep Cellmetry available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Tesla Fleet API outages, certificate or key expirations at Tesla, and planned maintenance may cause gaps in telemetry. We are not liable for such gaps.

You may close your account at any time from Settings. The delete action there hard-deletes your identifying data immediately and irreversibly. We may suspend or close accounts that materially breach these Terms. On closure, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Cellmetry is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by Finnish and EU law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We do not limit liability for willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any statutory right that cannot be limited.

These Terms are governed by Finnish law. Disputes go first to negotiation; if unresolved, to the competent court at the defendant's domicile, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection forum.

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that point constitutes acceptance.
